In the TBMR for Linux recovery environment, at the point of recovery you will be presented with a box labelled “dsmc options”. It is in this field you enter in the following commands to select your Point in Time to restore to:
Two DSMC options fields are provided in the recovery environment:
-
The first DSMC options field is used to set options when retrieving the configuration data. Only put the PIT options in this first options field if you wish to use a earlier version of the TBMR configuration files.
-
The second DSMC options field is used to set options during the recovery.
The basic syntax for performing a PIT restore is: -pitd='MM/DD/YYYY' -pitt='HH:MM:SS'
- NOTE1: the default date format in TSM is MM/DD/YYYY is used above but various different date formats are available and can be set in the dsm.opt file.
NOTE2: DO NOT SPECIFY THE Point-In-Time OPTIONS WHEN RUNNING THE OPTION “TEST BACKUP LOCATION”… THIS WILL CAUSE AN ERROR. Only Specify the PIT options after selection RESTORE MACHINE.
