Selective restores can be configured to restore certain file systems e.g. non-root mount points.
An example is below.
Setup the job in Cohesity.
- A protection job, configured as “Protect all local volumes” with the selected mount points excluded (in our test, this was “/data”)
- Another protection job, configured as below, with only /data selected
During restore:
The other protection job will show as a different volume group. These other can be unticked to prevent recovery of the /data volumegroup so the target disk (/dev/sda) doesn’t get partitioned with those volumes.
Continue recovery as normal.
